- Using the world map or globe, locate the different oceans and seas where sharks and mermaids are commonly found. Discuss their habitats and the differences between saltwater and freshwater.
- Create a collage or drawing of a shark habitat using construction paper and art supplies. Discuss the different elements that make up the habitat, such as coral reefs, seaweed, and other marine life.
- Draw a mermaid on a separate piece of construction paper. Discuss the concept of mermaids being mythical creatures and how they are often associated with the ocean.
