Activities

  1. Read a Dr. Seuss book together
  2. Choose one of your favorite Dr. Seuss books and read it aloud. Pay attention to the words and sentences used.

  4. Ask your child to listen for words that sound the same at the end. Encourage them to point out the rhyming words as you read.

  5. Practice making sentences
  6. After reading a few pages, ask your child to create a sentence using one of the rhyming words they heard. Write down their sentence and praise their creativity.

  7. Create a rhyming word list
  8. Together, make a list of rhyming words from the book. Write each word on a piece of paper and decorate it with drawings related to the word.

  9. Draw a picture and write a sentence
  10. Choose a scene from the book and ask your child to draw a picture of it. Then, help them write a sentence describing the picture using the rhyming words they learned.
