Materials and Prep
- Toy trains and train tracks
- A world map or globe
- Construction paper
- Markers or crayons
- Scissors
- Tape or glue
Prior knowledge: The student should have a basic understanding of what trains and tracks are.
Activities
- Train Track Exploration: Allow the student to play with toy trains and tracks. Encourage them to create different track layouts and discuss the different directions the trains can go.
- World Map Adventure: Show the student a world map or globe. Explain that trains can travel to different places around the world. Ask the student to point to different countries or continents on the map where they think trains might go.
- Train Track Art: Provide the student with construction paper, markers or crayons, scissors, and tape or glue. Ask them to create their own train track artwork. They can draw tracks, trains, and any other elements they like.
