Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the concept of gratitude and express gratitude for the things they are thankful for.
Materials and Prep
Materials: Paper, crayons/markers, and a pen. Prep: None needed.
Activities
Draw and Color: Have the student draw and color a picture of something they are grateful for. Encourage them to express why they are thankful for it.
Thank You Notes: Help the student write a simple thank you note to someone they appreciate, such as a family member or friend.
Gratitude Circle: Sit with the student and take turns sharing one thing each of you are grateful for. Encourage the student to express their feelings about why they are thankful for it.

- "Gratitude means being thankful for the things we have. Can you think of something you are thankful for?"
- "When we express gratitude, we show our appreciation for others. Who is someone you appreciate and why?"
- "Drawing a picture of something we are grateful for helps us remember why it's important. What will you draw and why are you thankful for it?"
