Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to improve their reading comprehension skills by engaging with Minecraft-related reading materials.

Materials and Prep

  • Minecraft-themed reading materials (e.g., Minecraft books, Minecraft articles, Minecraft game guides)
  • A computer or tablet with internet access
  • A notebook and pen/pencil

Activities

  1. Read a Minecraft book or article of your choice for 15 minutes.

    While reading, take notes on interesting facts, new vocabulary words, or any questions that arise.

  2. After reading, write a short summary of what you read. Include the main characters, setting, and important events.

  3. Create a Minecraft-themed word search puzzle using vocabulary words from the reading material. Include at least 10 words.

    Share the puzzle with a family member or friend and have them solve it.

  4. Research and find a Minecraft-related article or blog post online. Read it and write down three interesting facts or ideas you learned.
