Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and describe different sea creatures and understand their habitats and characteristics.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed:

  • Coloring pencils or markers
  • Blank paper
  • Access to the internet or books about sea creatures

Before the lesson, make sure to have some pictures or information about different sea creatures ready for reference.

Activities

1. Research: Use the internet or books to find pictures and information about different sea creatures such as fish, dolphins, sea turtles, and jellyfish.

2. Drawing: Choose one sea creature and draw a picture of it, making sure to include its habitat and any unique characteristics.

3. Presentation: Share your drawing and the information you found with a family member or friend, explaining why you chose that particular sea creature.

  • Sea creatures live in the ocean. They can be different sizes and shapes. For example, a dolphin is a mammal that lives in the ocean and has smooth skin.
  • Some sea creatures, like fish, have scales and fins that help them swim, while others, like sea turtles, have shells to protect them.
  • Each sea creature has a special place where it lives called its habitat. For example, jellyfish can be found in the deep ocean, while some fish live near coral reefs.
