Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to locate and identify books about rocks in the library, and understand the basics of using the library to find information.

Activities

1. Visit the library and ask the librarian for books about rocks. Practice using the Dewey Decimal System to locate books on rocks.

2. Choose a book about rocks and spend some time reading and looking at the pictures.

3. Discuss what was learned about rocks from the book and share any interesting facts with a family member.
