Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to observe, describe, and compare the characteristics of different types of apples.
Materials and Prep
Materials:
- 3 different types of apples (e.g., red, green, yellow)
- Knife (to cut the apples)
- Plate
- Paper and crayons
Prep:
- Wash and dry the apples
- Set up a comfortable workspace for the student
Activities
1. Apple Observation:
- Have the student observe each apple and describe its color, shape, and size.
- Encourage the student to use their senses to explore the apples (e.g., smell, touch).
2. Apple Tasting:
- After observing, cut the apples into slices and have the student taste each one.
- Ask the student to describe the taste of each apple (e.g., sweet, sour).
3. Apple Art:
- Provide the student with paper and crayons to draw and color their favorite apple from the observation and tasting activities.
