Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand the main characters and setting of Heartwood Hotel and engage in activities related to the story.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Heartwood Hotel book, paper, crayons

Prep: Familiarize yourself with the characters and setting of Heartwood Hotel.

Activities

1. Story Discussion: Read a chapter from Heartwood Hotel together and discuss the main characters and setting.

2. Character Drawing: Have the student draw their favorite character from the story and explain why they chose that character.

3. Setting Exploration: Encourage the student to create a drawing of the setting of Heartwood Hotel and describe what they imagine it to be like.
