Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to build a fort using only cushions and develop an appreciation for the creative process of designing and constructing a fort.

Materials and Prep

Materials needed: Cushions of various sizes and shapes

Prep: Clear a space in the room for building the fort and ensure there are enough cushions for the activity.

Activities

1. Introduction: Begin by discussing the concept of forts and their purpose. Talk about the different types of forts and their designs.

2. Building Time: Let the student use the cushions to build their own fort. Encourage them to be creative and try different designs.

3. Fort Showcase: Once the fort is built, have the student give a tour of their fort, explaining the features and design choices.

4. Art Appreciation: Discuss the creativity and imagination that went into building the fort. Encourage the student to appreciate their own creation.
