Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to apply geometric concepts to effectively sort cattle on horseback.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Horse, cattle, open field or arena

Prep: Student should have a basic understanding of angles and shapes in geometry.

Activities

  • Riding Patterns: Practice riding different geometric patterns such as circles, squares, and triangles to understand the concept of angles and shapes.
  • Cattle Sorting Game: Set up a game where the student needs to use their knowledge of geometric shapes and angles to separate cattle into different pens or areas.
  • Obstacle Course: Create an obstacle course with geometrically shaped obstacles for the student to navigate while sorting cattle.
