Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand and appreciate the connection between art and storytelling through reading and creating their own illustrations.
Materials and Prep
Materials:
- Blank paper
- Crayons or markers
- Favorite storybook or fairytale
Prep:
- Familiarize yourself with the chosen storybook or fairytale.
Activities
1. Read the chosen storybook or fairytale together. While reading, discuss the characters, setting, and main events.
2. After reading, ask the student to choose their favorite part of the story and draw a picture to represent it.
3. Encourage the student to explain their drawing and how it connects to the story.
