Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and describe unicorns in stories and illustrations, and understand the concept of make-believe creatures in literature.

Materials and Prep

  • Books or stories featuring unicorns
  • Paper and coloring materials
  • Imagination and creativity

Activities

  • Read a story about unicorns together. Discuss the characteristics of the unicorn and why it is a make-believe creature.

  • Draw and color a picture of a unicorn. Encourage the student to use their imagination to create their own unique unicorn.

  • Create a simple unicorn-themed story with the student. Help them write or dictate the story, focusing on the magical and imaginative aspects of unicorns.
