Materials and Prep
Materials: Blank paper, pencils, crayons, and any fairytale books for inspiration. Prep: Familiarize yourself with a few fairytales to discuss during the lesson.
Activities
1. Start by reading a fairytale together and discuss the elements of a fairytale such as magical creatures, heroes, and happy endings. 2. Brainstorm ideas for a new fairytale and create a simple story outline with a beginning, middle, and end. 3. Encourage the student to write their fairytale using their outline and then illustrate it with drawings. 4. Share and discuss each other's fairytale stories.
