Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to recognize and identify different types of cars and their features through reading and discussion.

Materials and Prep

Materials: Picture books about cars, paper, crayons/markers.

Prep: Gather the picture books and have them ready for the lesson.

Activities

1. Read Aloud: Start by reading a picture book about cars to the student. Point out different types of cars and their features as you read.

2. Drawing Activity: Ask the student to choose their favorite car from the book and draw a picture of it. Encourage them to include details like wheels, windows, and colors.

3. Discussion: Have a conversation with the student about the different cars they saw in the book. Ask them questions like "What color was the car?" or "How many wheels did the car have?"

  • "Cars are vehicles that help us travel from one place to another. They can be different colors like red, blue, or yellow."
  • "Some cars have big wheels, and some have small wheels. What do you think? Which one do you like?"
  • "Cars have windows for people to look out of. Can you draw a picture of a car with windows?"
