Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to apply arithmetic concepts to accurately measure and mix ingredients for baking sugar cookies.

Materials and Prep

Materials: measuring cups and spoons, mixing bowls, sugar cookie recipe, oven

Prep: Familiarize yourself with the sugar cookie recipe and ensure you have all the necessary ingredients and equipment.

Activities

1. Measure the Ingredients: Practice using different units of measurement (cups, teaspoons, tablespoons) to accurately measure the sugar, flour, and butter for the cookie dough.

2. Mix the Ingredients: Combine the measured ingredients according to the recipe, paying attention to the order and technique for mixing.

3. Shape and Bake: Roll the cookie dough into balls and place them on a baking sheet, then bake according to the recipe instructions.
