Materials and Prep

You will need a computer or tablet with Minecraft installed. No other materials are required. Make sure you are familiar with the basic controls and gameplay of Minecraft before starting the lesson.

Activities

• Explore and observe the different biomes in Minecraft, such as forests, deserts, and oceans. Take note of the plants and animals you encounter in each biome.

• Build a simple food chain in Minecraft using animals and plants. For example, you can place grass blocks for plants, then spawn cows or sheep as herbivores, and wolves or ocelots as carnivores.

• Discuss and observe the impact of changes in the ecosystem, such as removing certain animals or introducing new ones. Observe how it affects the balance of the food chain.
