Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a creative composition using Minecraft as your inspiration.

Materials and Prep

  • A computer or tablet with Minecraft installed
  • Paper and pencil
  • Access to a printer (optional)

Activities

  1. Start by playing Minecraft for about 30 minutes. Explore different worlds, gather inspiration, and take screenshots of interesting structures or landscapes.

  2. Once you're done playing, take a break and reflect on your experience. Think about the different elements of Minecraft that you enjoyed the most.

  3. Now, grab your paper and pencil, and start brainstorming ideas for your composition. Consider the following questions:

    • What is the setting of your composition? Is it in the Minecraft world or a different place?
    • Who are the main characters? Are they Minecraft characters or original ones you create?
    • What is the plot or storyline? What challenges or adventures will your characters face?
  4. Once you have a clear idea of your composition, start writing! Use your Minecraft experience as inspiration to describe settings, characters, and events in detail.

  5. If you want to add visuals to your composition, you can print out your Minecraft screenshots and glue them onto your paper. This will help bring your Minecraft world to life.

  6. When you're finished writing, read your composition aloud to yourself or someone else. Make any necessary revisions to improve the flow and clarity of your writing.
