Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to apply basic arithmetic skills to solve problems related to Call of Duty gameplay.

Materials and Prep

- Paper and pencil
- Basic understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Activities

1. Call of Duty Score Calculation: Practice addition and subtraction by calculating your total score after each game. For example, if you scored 1500 points in one game and then lost 300 points in the next game, what is your total score?
2. Weapon Damage Calculation: Use multiplication to determine the total damage of a weapon. If a weapon deals 20 damage per shot and you hit the enemy 5 times, what is the total damage dealt?
3. Resource Management: Apply division to manage in-game resources. If you have 60 bullets and need to distribute them equally among 4 teammates, how many bullets will each teammate receive?

Third Grade Talking Points

  • "In Call of Duty, we can use math to calculate our scores and manage resources."
  • "We can add points we earn and subtract points we lose to find our total score."
  • "We can also use multiplication to calculate the total damage of a weapon."
  • "And we can use division to share resources equally among teammates."
