Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to analyze and interpret the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights Graphic Novel, demonstrating comprehension of the story elements and themes.

Materials and Prep

  • Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights Graphic Novel
  • Pen or pencil
  • Notebook or loose-leaf paper

Prior knowledge of the Five Nights at Freddy's game series is helpful, but not required.

Activities

  1. Begin by having the student read the Five Nights at Freddy's: Fazbear Frights Graphic Novel.

  2. After reading, ask the student to write a brief summary of the main plot and characters in the graphic novel.

  3. Next, have the student choose one character from the graphic novel and create a character profile. The profile should include the character's physical appearance, personality traits, and motivations.

  4. Now, ask the student to analyze the theme(s) present in the graphic novel. Have them write a paragraph explaining their interpretation of the theme(s) and provide examples from the story to support their analysis.

  5. Finally, encourage the student to discuss their thoughts and interpretations with you or a fellow student. This will help develop their communication and critical thinking skills.
