Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to cook pancakes independently.

Materials and Prep

  • Pancake mix
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Butter or cooking spray
  • Mixing bowl
  • Whisk or spoon
  • Frying pan
  • Spatula
  • Stove or electric griddle
  • Apron (optional)

Make sure you have adult supervision while using the stove or griddle.

Activities

  1. Mixing the Batter:

    Measure the pancake mix, milk, and eggs according to the instructions on the pancake mix package. Pour them into a mixing bowl and whisk or stir until the batter is smooth.

  2. Prepping the Pan:

    Place a frying pan on the stove or griddle and heat it over medium heat. Grease the pan with butter or cooking spray.

  3. Cooking the Pancakes:

    Using a ladle or spoon, pour small amounts of batter onto the hot pan to form pancakes. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip the pancakes using a spatula. Cook for another minute or until golden brown.

  4. Serving and Enjoying:

    Transfer the cooked pancakes onto a plate and serve them warm. You can add toppings like maple syrup, fruits, or whipped cream if desired. Enjoy your homemade pancakes!
