Basic Stitching Techniques: Teach the student basic hand sewing techniques such as running stitch, backstitch, and whipstitch. Demonstrate each stitch and allow the student to practice on scrap fabric.
Create a Simple Project: Guide the student in creating a simple project using the basic stitches they have learned. This could be a small pillow, a fabric bookmark, or a simple stuffed animal. Encourage creativity and experimentation.
Embellish and Personalize: If desired, show the student how to add embellishments to their project using buttons, ribbons, or embroidery. Allow them to explore different techniques and designs.
Show and Tell: Once the project is complete, have the student present their creation to the class or family members. Encourage them to explain the techniques they used and the inspiration behind their design.
