By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and locate the state of Indiana on a map of the United States.
Materials and Prep

- A smaller map of Indiana
- A globe (optional)
No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Show the student the map of the United States and point out the general location of Indiana.
- Ask the student to locate Indiana on the map.
- Show the student the smaller map of Indiana and discuss its shape and borders.
- Ask the student to trace the outline of Indiana on the smaller map.
- (Optional) If you have a globe, show the student where Indiana is located on it.
