Objective

By the end of this lesson, the Grade 1 student will be able to understand and apply basic arithmetic concepts through Paw Patrol-themed activities.

Activities

  1. Counting with Paw Patrol: Show the student pictures of Paw Patrol characters and ask them to count how many characters are in each picture. Encourage them to use their fingers to keep track if needed.
  2. Addition with Paw Patrol: Use Paw Patrol-themed addition worksheets to practice basic addition. For example, show a picture of three Paw Patrol characters and ask the student to add two more characters to find the total.
  3. Subtraction with Paw Patrol: Similarly, use Paw Patrol-themed subtraction worksheets to practice basic subtraction. For instance, show a picture of five Paw Patrol characters and ask the student to subtract two characters to find the remaining number.
  4. Problem-solving with Paw Patrol: Present the student with simple word problems involving Paw Patrol scenarios. For example, "If Chase had 4 bones and gave 2 bones to Marshall, how many bones does Chase have left?" Help the student visualize the problem using Paw Patrol characters or drawings.
