Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to use your Hot wheels track building skills to create a story and describe it using language arts and reading concepts.

Materials and Prep

  • Hot wheels tracks
  • Hot wheels cars
  • Construction paper
  • Markers or crayons
  • Scissors
  • Tape or glue

Before starting this lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of the different parts of a story, such as characters, setting, and plot.

Activities

  1. Build a Hot wheels track using the tracks and cars you have. Make it as long and exciting as you can!
  2. Once you have built your track, think of a story that could happen on this track. It could involve the Hot wheels cars or any other characters you like.
  3. Use the construction paper, markers or crayons, and scissors to create a backdrop for your story. Draw and cut out different scenes or settings that your story will take place in.
  4. Arrange your scenes along the Hot wheels track to match the different parts of your story. You can use tape or glue to secure them in place.
  5. Now, tell your story out loud as you guide the Hot wheels cars along the track. Use descriptive words and phrases to make your story more interesting.
