Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to confidently participate in a show and tell activity, sharing information about an item of their choice.

Materials and Prep

  • An item of their choice for show and tell
  • Paper and coloring materials

Activities

  • Activity 1: Show and Tell Preparation
  • Guide the student in selecting an item they would like to share for show and tell. Encourage them to think about why they chose that item and what makes it special to them. Assist them in preparing a short presentation about the item.

  • Activity 2: Show and Tell Practice
  • Have the student practice their show and tell presentation in front of a mirror or with a family member. Encourage them to speak clearly and confidently, using descriptive words to explain their item.

  • Activity 3: Show and Tell Showcase
  • Organize a show and tell showcase where the student can present their item to family members or friends. Allow them to share their item and answer any questions that may arise.

Talking Points

  • Choose an item that you really like. For example, you could bring your favorite toy, a special rock you found, or a drawing you made.
  • Think about why you chose that item. What makes it special to you? Is it because it's fun to play with, or because it reminds you of a special memory?
  • Practice talking about your item in front of a mirror or with a family member. Use words to describe what it looks like, how it feels, or what it does.
  • When presenting your item, speak clearly and with confidence. Make sure everyone can hear you!
  • If someone asks you a question about your item, try your best to answer. You know your item better than anyone else!
  • Remember, show and tell is a fun way to share something special with others. Enjoy the experience and have fun!
