Activities

  • Create a Roman Emperors Timeline:

    Research and identify at least five Roman Emperors. Create a timeline showcasing their reigns and notable achievements. Include illustrations or symbols representing each emperor.

  • Emperor Role Play:

    Choose a Roman Emperor and prepare a short role-play. Act out a scene that highlights their leadership style and significant events during their reign. Use props or costumes to make it more engaging.

  • Emperor Trivia Game:

    Create a trivia game with questions about different Roman Emperors. Challenge yourself or play with a family member or friend. Keep score and see who can answer the most questions correctly.

Talking Points

  • Julius Caesar: One of the most famous Roman Emperors. He was a military general and a skilled politician. He played a crucial role in the transformation of the Roman Republic into the Roman Empire.

  • Augustus: The first emperor of Rome. He brought peace and stability to the empire after years of civil war. Augustus implemented various reforms and initiated the Pax Romana, a period of relative peace and prosperity.

  • Nero: Known for his extravagant lifestyle and questionable decisions. He was infamous for persecuting Christians and was accused of setting fire to Rome. Nero's reign marked a period of political instability.

  • Constantine: The first Christian Roman Emperor. He played a significant role in the spread of Christianity and moved the capital of the Roman Empire to Constantinople (modern-day Istanbul).

  • Justinian: Known for his efforts to restore the glory of the Roman Empire. He implemented legal reforms and commissioned the construction of the Hagia Sophia, a famous Byzantine church in Constantinople.
