Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to spell basic words related to ducks.
Materials and Prep
- Whiteboard or large paper
- Markers or crayons
- Printed pictures of ducks
Before starting the lesson, make sure the student is familiar with the alphabet and can recognize and name letters.
Activities
- Letter Matching: Write the letters of the alphabet on the whiteboard or paper and ask the student to match each letter to the corresponding letter on a printed picture of a duck.
- Spelling Game: Show the student a picture of a duck and ask them to spell the word "duck" using the letter cards or by writing the letters on the whiteboard.
- Word Hunt: Hide printed words related to ducks around the room and ask the student to find them. Once they find a word, ask them to spell it out loud.
- Story Time: Read a book about ducks and pause at certain points to ask the student to spell specific words from the story.
