Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to spell basic words related to ducks.

Materials and Prep

  • Pen or pencil
  • Paper or a whiteboard

Activities

  • Activity 1: Duck Word Hunt
  • Give the student a list of duck-related words (e.g., duck, quack, feathers, pond) and ask them to find objects in the house that represent those words. For example, they can find a toy duck or draw a duck on a piece of paper.

  • Activity 2: Spell It Out
  • Write down a few duck-related words on a piece of paper or whiteboard, leaving out some letters. Ask the student to fill in the missing letters to complete the words. For example, if you write "d__k," the student should write "duck."

  • Activity 3: Duck Spelling Bee
  • Give the student a list of duck-related words and take turns spelling them out loud. Start with simple words and gradually increase the difficulty. Encourage the student to sound out the words and use their knowledge of letter sounds to spell them correctly.
