Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will have learned about travel and lodges, and how to plan a trip to a lodge out of state.

Materials and Prep

  • Pen and paper
  • Access to a computer or device with internet
  • World map or globe (optional)
  • Printed brochures or pictures of lodges (optional)

Activities

  1. Research a Lodge: Use the internet or printed materials to find information about a lodge in a state you would like to visit. Write down the lodge's name, location, and some interesting features or activities it offers.

  2. Create a Travel Itinerary: Plan a pretend trip to the lodge. Decide how many days you would like to stay, what activities you want to do, and what you would like to see or explore in the surrounding area. Write down your itinerary, including the dates, activities, and any special notes.

  3. Pack Your Bags: Pretend you are packing for your trip. Make a list of items you would need to bring, such as clothes, toiletries, and any special equipment for activities you plan to do at the lodge.

  4. Design a Lodge Brochure: Create your own brochure for the lodge you researched. Include pictures, information about the lodge, activities, and any special offers. Be creative!
