Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to have fun and learn about playing with gyms.
Materials and Prep
- A safe and open space to play
- Comfortable clothing and shoes
- Water bottle for hydration
- Parent or guardian supervision
Activities
- Warm-up: Start with some stretching exercises to warm up your muscles. Reach up high, touch your toes, and do some gentle jumping jacks.
- Obstacle Course: Set up a simple obstacle course using pillows, chairs, and other safe objects around your home. Try crawling under a table, jumping over pillows, and balancing on one foot.
- Animal Movements: Pretend to be different animals and move like them. Can you walk like a bear, hop like a bunny, or slither like a snake?
- Simon Says: Play a game of Simon Says where you have to follow movement commands. For example, Simon says, "Jump three times" or "Touch your toes."
- Balance Beam: Create a balance beam using a long piece of tape on the floor. Practice walking on the tape without falling off. Challenge yourself by walking backward or sideways.
- Musical Gymnastics: Put on some energetic music and dance around like a gymnast. Try twirling, jumping, and spinning to the beat.
