Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to express their creativity through writing by creating a fashion makeover story using their favorite Barbie dolls.

Materials and Prep

  • Barbie dolls
  • Paper and pencils

Before starting the lesson, make sure the student has a basic understanding of storytelling and can write simple sentences.

Activities

  • Create a Fashion Makeover Scene: Encourage the student to set up a fashion makeover scene using their Barbie dolls. They can dress up the dolls in different outfits and create a runway or a dressing room setting.
  • Write a Fashion Makeover Story: Ask the student to imagine a story that revolves around the fashion makeover scene they created. They can think about the characters, the plot, and the conflict. Encourage them to use descriptive language and include details about the fashion choices.
  • Draw Illustrations: After writing the story, the student can draw illustrations to accompany their narrative. They can draw the characters in their fashionable outfits or scenes from the story.
  • Share and Discuss: Allow the student to share their fashion makeover story and illustrations with you or other family members. Engage in a discussion about their creative choices and encourage them to explain their story.
