Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to appreciate and create visual art inspired by the Warrior Cats book series.

Materials and Prep

  • Paper or sketchbook
  • Pencils, erasers, and colored pencils or markers
  • Reference images from the Warrior Cats books

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Create a Character: Have the student design their own original Warrior Cat character. They can think about the different clans, names, appearances, and personalities inspired by the books. Encourage them to draw and color their character.
  • Illustrate a Scene: Ask the student to choose a memorable scene from one of the books and illustrate it. They can use their imagination and artistic skills to bring the scene to life on paper.
  • Design a Book Cover: Challenge the student to create a captivating book cover for their favorite Warrior Cats book. They can include the title, author's name, and a visually appealing illustration that represents the essence of the story.
  • Collage Art: Provide the student with a variety of magazines or printed images related to cats, nature, and adventure. Ask them to cut out and arrange the images into a collage that reflects the spirit of the Warrior Cats series.
