Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to practice handwriting skills using a graphic novel theme.

Materials and Prep

  • Plain paper or lined paper
  • Pencils or pens
  • Graphic novels or comic books for reference

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Create a Comic Strip: Have the student create their own mini graphic novel by drawing a comic strip with 3-4 panels. Encourage them to come up with a simple story or scenario and illustrate it using their best handwriting.
  • Character Handwriting Practice: Ask the student to choose a favorite character from a graphic novel or comic book. They can then practice writing the character's name or a short sentence using the character's speech bubble as a guide.
  • Design a Book Cover: Have the student design a book cover for their own graphic novel. They can write the title of the book, their name as the author, and draw an eye-catching illustration on the cover. Encourage them to use their best handwriting for the text.
