Before the lesson, gather the materials and print or cut out pictures of community helpers.
Activities
- Create a Community Helper Collage: Have the student cut out pictures of community helpers from magazines or use printed pictures. Help them glue or tape the pictures onto a piece of paper to create a collage.
- Role Play: Encourage the student to dress up as different community helpers using items they have at home, such as hats, aprons, or tools. Let them pretend to be a firefighter, police officer, doctor, or any other community helper they are interested in.
- Draw and Color: Ask the student to draw and color their favorite community helper. They can use crayons or markers to make their drawing vibrant and colorful.
