Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to improve their reading skills while learning about ball hockey and its vocabulary.

Materials and Prep

  • Ball hockey book or online resources
  • Pen or pencil
  • Blank paper

Activities

1. Reading Comprehension: Have the student read a ball hockey book or an online article about ball hockey. After reading, ask them questions to check their understanding. For example, "What is ball hockey?" or "What equipment is used in ball hockey?"

2. Vocabulary Building: Ask the student to make a list of new words they encountered while reading. Have them write down the definitions and use each word in a sentence.

3. Create a Ball Hockey Story: Encourage the student to use their imagination and write a short story about a ball hockey game. They can include characters, a setting, and a plot. Encourage them to use descriptive language to make the story more interesting.

4. Ball Hockey Word Search: Create a word search puzzle using ball hockey-related words. The student can search for the words horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. After completing the word search, ask them to write a sentence using each word.
