Activities
- Activity 1: Warm-Up Trot - Start by jogging in place to warm up your body. Imagine you are a horse trotting around the arena. Move your arms and legs as if you are a horse's legs. Do this for 5 minutes.
- Activity 2: Horse Stance Practice - Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and pretend you are sitting on a horse. Keep your back straight and your core engaged. Hold this position for 1 minute. Repeat 3 times.
- Activity 3: Rein Control - Hold your imaginary reins in your hands and practice controlling your horse. Pretend to guide your horse left, right, forward, and backward. Use your arms and body to communicate with your imaginary horse.
- Activity 4: Obstacle Course - Set up a simple obstacle course using household items like pillows or cones. Pretend to ride your horse around the obstacles, making sure to maintain good posture and balance. Time yourself and try to improve your speed with each attempt.
Talking Points
- Proper Posture - "When riding a horse, it's important to sit up straight and tall. This helps you maintain balance and communicate effectively with your horse."
- Balance - "Balance is crucial when riding a horse. Imagine you have a string attached to the top of your head, pulling you up. This will help you stay centered and balanced on your imaginary horse."
- Rein Control - "Reins are used to control a horse. Pretend your hands are holding the reins and practice guiding your horse in different directions. Remember to use gentle movements and communicate clearly."
- Obstacle Course - "An obstacle course can help improve your riding skills. Challenge yourself to navigate through the course while maintaining good posture and balance. Don't forget to have fun!"
