Activities

  1. Warm-up exercises: Start the lesson by doing some simple warm-up exercises together. Jumping jacks, stretching, and jogging in place are great options. This will help get the blood flowing and prepare the body for physical activity.
  2. Healthy snack preparation: Teach the student how to make a healthy snack, such as a fruit salad or a veggie wrap. Discuss the importance of eating nutritious foods and how they provide energy for the body.
  3. Obstacle course: Set up an obstacle course using household items like pillows, chairs, and hula hoops. Guide the student through the course, emphasizing the importance of safety, balance, and coordination.
  4. Brain break dance party: Take a break from physical activities and have a dance party! Play some upbeat music and encourage the student to move their body freely. Dancing is a fun way to stay active and release energy.
  5. Reflection and goal setting: Sit down with the student and discuss what they have learned about being healthy, safe, and active. Ask them to reflect on their favorite activity from the lesson and set a personal goal for staying active in the future.
