Objective
The objective of this lesson is to introduce the student to Kpop dance and provide them with fun activities to learn and practice basic Kpop dance moves.
Materials and Prep
- An open space with enough room for movement
- A device with internet access to watch Kpop dance tutorials
- Comfortable clothing and shoes
Activities
Warm-up: Start the lesson with a 5-10 minute warm-up routine to get the body ready for dancing. Include stretching exercises and light cardio activities like jumping jacks or jogging in place.
Watch Kpop dance tutorials: Use the internet to find beginner-friendly Kpop dance tutorials. Choose a few songs that the student enjoys and let them pick one to learn. Watch the tutorial together and encourage the student to follow along, pausing and rewinding as needed.
Practice basic Kpop dance moves: After watching the tutorial, break down the dance moves into smaller segments. Have the student practice each move individually, gradually combining them into a sequence. Provide guidance and feedback to help them improve their technique.
Create a dance routine: Once the student feels comfortable with the basic moves, encourage them to get creative and add their own style to the dance routine. They can modify certain moves or add their own unique steps. Give them time to practice and refine their routine.
Showcase the dance routine: Towards the end of the lesson, have the student perform their dance routine. This can be recorded or presented live to family members or friends. Encourage them to express themselves and have fun while performing.
