Objective

By the end of this lesson, the Kindergarten student will be able to describe different types of clouds and write a short sentence about their favorite cloud.

Materials and Prep

  • White paper
  • Crayons or colored pencils

No additional preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  • Cloud Observation: Go outside and look at the clouds. Observe their shapes, sizes, and colors. Encourage the student to use their imagination to see different objects or animals in the clouds.
  • Cloud Drawing: Provide the student with white paper and crayons or colored pencils. Ask them to draw their favorite cloud and color it using their imagination.
  • Cloud Sentence: Help the student write a short sentence about their favorite cloud. Encourage them to use descriptive words and share why they like that particular cloud.

Talking Points

  • Cloud Observation: "Today, we are going to look at the clouds in the sky. Can you see any clouds right now? Let's talk about the different shapes, sizes, and colors we notice."
  • Cloud Drawing: "Now, I want you to draw your favorite cloud on this piece of paper. Use your crayons or colored pencils to make it look beautiful. Be creative and have fun!"
  • Cloud Sentence: "Let's write a sentence about your favorite cloud. Think about why you like it and what it looks like. We can use words like fluffy, big, or colorful to describe it. Remember to use your best handwriting!"
