Objective
By the end of this lesson, the Kindergarten student will be able to identify different types of clouds and understand their characteristics.
Materials and Prep
- White construction paper
- Crayons or markers
- Cloud identification chart (printed or drawn)
- Access to a window or outdoor space
Activities
Cloud Observation: Go to a window or outdoor space and observe the clouds. Encourage the student to describe what they see and ask questions about the clouds.
Cloud Drawing: Provide the student with white construction paper and crayons or markers. Ask them to draw the clouds they observed, using different colors to represent different types of clouds.
Cloud Matching Game: Create or print a cloud identification chart with pictures or drawings of different cloud types. Cut out the pictures and mix them up. Have the student match the cloud pictures to the correct names.
