Activities
Activity 1: Singing with Nouns
Ask the student to name different objects in the room. Then, create a fun song using those objects as nouns. Sing the song together and encourage the student to point to each object as they sing its name.
Activity 2: Action Verb Hunt
Go on a scavenger hunt around the house to find objects that can be used for different actions (e.g., a ball for bouncing, a spoon for stirring). Encourage the student to demonstrate the actions using the objects and say the corresponding action verbs.
Activity 3: Adjective Descriptions
Select a few objects in the room and describe them using adjectives (e.g., soft, round, colorful). Ask the student to find objects that match the descriptions and share their findings with you.
Talking Points
"Nouns are words that name people, animals, places, and things. Can you name some things in this room?"
"Verbs are words that show actions. Can you show me how you can bounce a ball or stir with a spoon?"
"Adjectives are words that describe things. Can you find something in this room that is soft or colorful?"
