Activities

  1. Introduction to the Seven Deadly Sins
  2. Begin by discussing the concept of the seven deadly sins (pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth). Ask the student to share their understanding of these sins and their significance in various cultures and religions.

  3. Artwork Analysis
  4. Research and find artworks that represent each of the seven deadly sins. Encourage the student to explore different art styles and mediums. Once the artworks are selected, have the student analyze each piece by answering questions such as:

    • What elements and principles of art are evident in the artwork?
    • How does the artist convey the chosen sin through visual representation?
    • What emotions or messages does the artwork evoke?
  5. Create Personal Artwork
  6. Ask the student to choose one of the seven deadly sins that resonates with them the most. Using their preferred art medium, have them create an original artwork that visually represents their chosen sin. Encourage them to think creatively and experiment with different techniques.

  7. Art Appreciation Reflection
  8. After completing their artwork, have the student reflect on their creative process and the meaning behind their chosen sin. Ask them to write a short paragraph discussing how their artwork represents the sin and what emotions or messages they aimed to convey.
