Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to identify and spell common truck-related words.
Materials and Prep
- Toy trucks
- Flashcards with truck pictures
- Whiteboard or paper with markers
- Optional: Truck-themed coloring pages
No prior knowledge or preparation is required.
Activities
- Truck Flashcards: Show the toddler flashcards with pictures of different types of trucks. Ask them to name each truck and spell its name. Provide guidance and support as needed.
- Truck Spelling Bee: Use the toy trucks to create a spelling bee game. Place the trucks in a row and ask the toddler to spell the name of each truck by pointing to the trucks in the correct order. Encourage them to say the letters out loud as they point to the trucks.
- Truck Word Hunt: Write down a few simple truck-related words on the whiteboard or paper. Hide the flashcards around the room or play area. Ask the toddler to find each flashcard and match it to the corresponding word on the board. Help them spell the words if needed.
- Truck Coloring: If time allows, provide truck-themed coloring pages for the toddler to color. Encourage them to practice writing the names of the trucks they colored.
