Objective

By the end of this lesson, the 14-year-old homeschool student will have gained knowledge and skills in Maths, English, Art & Design, and programming, all related to the clothing business.

Materials and Prep

Activities

  1. Maths Activity: Pricing and Profit

    Research online to find clothing items from different brands. Calculate the cost of production for each item and determine a suitable selling price to ensure a profit margin. Write down your calculations and findings.

  2. English Activity: Advertising Slogans

    Create catchy slogans and taglines for your clothing business. Think about the target audience and the message you want to convey. Write down at least five different slogans and explain the reasoning behind each one.

  3. Art & Design Activity: Logo Design

    Design a unique and visually appealing logo for your clothing business. Use your creativity and art skills to come up with a logo that represents your brand. Sketch your ideas on paper and then transfer the best design onto a computer using graphic design software.

  4. Programming Activity: Virtual Storefront

    Using programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, create a virtual storefront for your clothing business. Include features like product listings, shopping cart functionality, and a checkout process. Test and debug your code to ensure it functions correctly.
