Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to express their creativity through various art activities.
Materials and Prep
- Blank paper
- Colored pencils or crayons
- Scissors
- Glue
- Old magazines or newspapers for collage (optional)
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
-
Create a Self-Portrait
Encourage the student to draw a picture of themselves using the materials provided. They can include details like their hair, eyes, and clothes. It's okay if it doesn't look exactly like them - it's their own artistic interpretation!
-
Make a Collage
If you have old magazines or newspapers, the student can cut out pictures or words that they like and glue them onto a piece of paper. They can create a scene, tell a story, or just have fun arranging the images.
-
Create a Nature Scene
Take the student outside and let them observe their surroundings. Then, have them draw or color a picture of what they saw. They can include trees, flowers, animals, or anything else that caught their attention.
