Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will have a better understanding of traveling on a cruise and will be able to plan their own dream cruise vacation.

Materials and Prep

  • Optional: Travel brochures or magazines

Before starting the lesson, make sure the student has a basic understanding of geography and knows how to use the internet for research.

Activities

  • Activity 1: Research Different Cruise Lines
  • Encourage the student to research different cruise lines and their destinations. They can compare prices, amenities, and itineraries. Have them take notes on the cruises that interest them the most.

  • Activity 2: Create a Dream Cruise Itinerary
  • Ask the student to plan their dream cruise itinerary. They can choose the destinations they want to visit, the activities they want to do on board, and any special events or excursions they would like to experience.

  • Activity 3: Budgeting for the Cruise
  • Guide the student in creating a budget for their dream cruise. They should consider the cost of the cruise itself, transportation to and from the port, onboard expenses, and any additional expenses for activities or souvenirs.

  • Activity 4: Design a Cruise Ship
  • Encourage the student to get creative and design their own cruise ship. They can draw or use online tools to create a floor plan, including different types of cabins, restaurants, entertainment venues, and recreational areas.
