Activities

  • Create an African-inspired artwork: Encourage the student to draw or paint a picture inspired by African culture, landscapes, or wildlife. They can use bright colors and patterns commonly found in African art.
  • Write a short story set in Africa: Have the student imagine a fictional adventure taking place in Africa. They can write a story with interesting characters, describing the setting, and incorporating elements of African culture or wildlife.
  • Explore African history: Help the student research and learn about significant events and historical figures in African history. They can create a timeline or draw illustrations to represent key moments.
  • Counting African animals: Using a world map or globe, identify different countries in Africa. Then, ask the student to count and write down the number of different types of animals they can find in each country. They can also draw the animals next to the country names.
  • Discover African ecosystems: Discuss different ecosystems found in Africa, such as savannas, deserts, rainforests, and grasslands. Ask the student to draw and label each ecosystem, including a few animals and plants that are specific to each one.
  • Learn about African cultures: Introduce the student to diverse African cultures, traditions, and languages. Encourage them to create a mini "culture book" with drawings and descriptions of different aspects of African cultures they find interesting.
