Materials and Prep

  • World map or globe
  • Printed pictures or illustrations of Thai landmarks (e.g. temples, palaces)
  • Printed pictures or illustrations of Thai traditional clothing
  • Printed pictures or illustrations of Thai food
  • Thai music (can be played through a device)
  • Whiteboard or large paper and markers

Activities

  1. Introduce Thailand by showing its location on the world map or globe. Discuss its position in relation to your own location.
  2. Show pictures of Thai landmarks and briefly explain their significance. Encourage the student to ask questions and share their observations.
  3. Show pictures of Thai traditional clothing and explain how it represents the country's culture. Ask the student to describe the colors and patterns they see.
  4. Discuss Thai food and its unique flavors. Show pictures of popular Thai dishes and ask the student if they have tried any of them before.
  5. Play Thai music in the background while engaging in a drawing activity. Ask the student to draw something related to Thailand, such as a Thai flag or a famous landmark.
