Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a basic understanding of what plants need to grow and thrive, such as sunlight, water, and nutrients.

Activities

  • Plant Observation: Choose a plant in your garden or a potted plant and observe its growth and changes over a week. Take notes or draw pictures to document the changes.
  • Seed Planting: Plant seeds in small pots or directly in the garden. Follow the instructions on the seed packet for proper planting depth and spacing.
  • Soil Testing: Collect soil samples from different areas of your garden and test their pH levels using a soil testing kit. Record your findings and compare the pH levels in different areas.
  • Garden Journal: Start a garden journal to keep track of your gardening activities, observations, and any challenges or successes you encounter.
